Our World

We live in a world where it's OK for every global media outlet to run multiple photos of a mutilated corpse, but a photo of a topless woman breastfeeding her child would be censured as obscene.

  1. there is a picture I saw on fb that had to men kissing on one side and on the other it had a picture of children that are starving from famine and it said something like that. If you think this is more obscene than that, there is a serious problem. Salaams, it's me mubeenah. I had no idea you had a blog, i'll check it out. I like it much better than facebooking. I have one that I barely use, except for private posts mostly.

  2. Walakum salaam, Mubeenah. Good to see you here! I'm not surprised you prefer blogs to FB; you always seemed more into ideas than images. Please tell your Dad I said hello :)

  4. That makes no sense to me at all. It defies logic.

  5. Jay - I gave up looking for logic in the world a long time ago.

  6. Thanks, Agnes. For a person like you, a person whose world includes the creation of visual beauty, I know you understand the impact of images.

  7. Truth. It's a travesty.

I saw a similar point the other day, which was that many people will overlook starving and bony, emaciated children, but raise heck over two same-sex people showing affection.

Thanks for visiting my blog the other day. :)
